Since Dr. Gabel is committed to quality results, and not quantity, he only performs one transplant a day to completely focus his attention on that patient for the day. Dr. Gabel is personally involved in every step of the procedure. In order to achieve the most natural results, he uses cutting edge technology including binocular microscopes, customized instrumentation, and meticulous surgical techniques to ensure maximum growth and survival of the grafts. Recently, Gabel Hair Restoration Center was evaluated and, due to our outstanding techniques and results in hair restoration, Dr. Gabel was invited to join the distinguished Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians and the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons. He is the only physician in the U.S. Northwest who has been invited to join these prestigious organizations.

Dr. Gabel believes that the doctor-patient relationship is a vital element in the decision and success of the procedure. Every consultation is performed by Dr. Gabel, who discusses the patient’s expectations and desires. He does not employ salesmen or consultants. Once the patient’s goals are reviewed, Dr. Gabel develops a treatment plan that is customized for the patient. If a transplant is not the best option, he will honestly and ethically discuss other treatment options with the patient.

Graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology. Received Doctor of Medicine degree from Loyola University - Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine in Illinois. Graduated in top 5% of the medical school class.

One year internship in general surgery and a four-year residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. Dr. Gabel has been recognized for his research projects, winning several first place and top national awards.

After residency, Dr. Gabel completed a fellowship at the University of Missouri, focusing specifically on hair restoration    procedures and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Board Certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.

Member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians and the International Alliance of Hair Restoration Surgeons for outstanding results and cutting edge techniques.  Also an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.

Over the years, Dr. Gabel has trained and mentored physicians in the intricacies of modern hair restoration techniques and has taught advanced workshops for physicians and their staff at international meetings.

Lectured to the public in the Pacific Northwest area and nationally on hair loss and surgical hair restoration.

Dr. Steven Gabel is the founder and medical director of the Gabel Hair Restoration Center, dedicated to natural, permanent hair restoration for men and women. The Gabel Center is located just twenty minutes from Portland, Oregon, and was custom-built to meet the needs of our patients in the Pacific Northwest.
